Katya Held is academically trained professional artist and an art instructor for over 2 decades.
She works primarily from life. Her favorite subject matter is portrait, still life and of cause flowers. When weather permits, Katya grabs her easel and goes to paint outside.
She traveled throughout Europe and the US with my French ease, painting landscapes and cityscapes. Katya considers painting outdoors one of best practices for artists. The painter learned to see and capture the most crucial information while dealing with constantly changing light. This experience taught her how to paint fast and helped me in her in studio portrait work as well.
Katya have been teaching many classes including alla prima portrait painting and sculpture. After exhibiting her floral paintings and posting several demos online, she have been asked to teach a floral painting class.
Since many of her students and followers are all over the world and can’t travel during pandemics, she decided to make an instructional video, available for download.
In this video Katya will paint a hydrangea outdoors in her back yard. Her demonstration with a commentary in English will be slightly more than 4 hours long.
She will show you how I paint a complex subject with numerous details in a simple way.
